Lesson Two - Where do we get our Crazy Ideas?

A COURSE IN MIRACLES WORKSHOP _ LESSON TWO
Steps to developing our Spirit and Discovering our Divine Purpose

Very few of our value judgments that we have incorporated into our truth are judgments which we have made based on our own experience. Experience is why we were born. Out of our experience we create ourselves. Have you created yourself out of the experience and truth of others

LIFE TEACHERSThe guides in our life journey who are crucial to our personal development.
BIRTH / MOTHER

CHILDHOOD/FATHER
PUBERTY / SELF
MATURITY / SOCIETY

SENIORITY / OUR UNIVERSE

By discovering what our life teachers succeeded or failed in giving us, we can erase the past which erases a self-predicted future leaving space for something authentic to happen.
Our teachers are our mirrors, from them we learn basic life instincts, spontaneous ways of being and our responses to life's challenges.

MOTHER/INFANCY: Passes on her lessons through her body, example, guidance, attitude energy and vibration. Her Sacred Role is to respect her baby's uniqueness and nurture its self-worth. She teaches the child to trust itself and gives him his essential sense of well-being. We are meant to become our OWN mother by integrating the maternal instinct.

Exercise: (Get a notebook to answer the following
)Think back as far as you can to your infancy. Write down your earliest memories of your Mother.
What do you love about your Mother?

What do you dislike?

Did your mother meet your needs as a child?

Imagine her taking you up on her lap and gently rocking you, saying the things that you always needed her to say to you. Are you feeling anger or affection?

Imagine a big red balloon tied to your small chubby infant wrist. Inside the balloon are all the negative feelings you have about your mother. Realize you can let all this pain go by untying the balloon and letting it go.

Write down all the lessons she taught you about yourself, whether through negative or positive example.
Tell you that you forgive her for the ways in which she did not understand you.

FATHER/CHILDHOOD: Through the Father our image is defined. Your relationship determines whether you can be yourself, express your heart or must achieve, perform, charm, compete, please demand or negate.

EXERCISE:
Write your EARLIEST memories of your father. Recall his quirks, his habits, his mannerisms, his ideas and philosophies.

What did you like about him?

Dislike?

Use a metaphor to describe you father.

Do you have a friend who treats you as your father treated you? Describe him or her.

What lessons did you learn from your father?

What feelings do you have when you imagine yourself in a room with your father at age 5?

at age 10? Let all of your feelings come to the surface.

Imagine making physical contact with your father, whatever contact feels comfortable to you. Let your blocked affection show and receive his in return.

What kind of a friend did your father teach you to be?

During the next two weeks write a letter to your father whether he is still living or has passed on. If he taught you to come from you heart, thank him. If he did not and could not himself, forgive him. This is his pain also.

SELF/PUBERTY:
At this stage of development we begin to explore our outer edges. We discover who we uniquely are in relationship to ourselves, others and society. We become our own source of permission and authority. We dream our dreams, and follow our visions, we risk and experiment if we have been allowed to developed in a healthy manner. Sexual energy electrifies all our feelings and thinking. It fuels our life drives and forges our deepest connection to ourselves and others. Our internal instincts are born. If we were stifled in developing this at this time WE NEED TO DO IT NOW. Change something, travel, start new things, risk and get out of your comfort zone. The ideal development at this level is a marriage of maternal and paternal wisdom. You learn who you are and what you need. You are challenged to create you own steps, find your own voice and take control of your own story.
EXERCISE:
What WAs going on inside and outside of you during this phase of your life?

What were your dreams?

Fantasies?

Do you have any haunting memories? If so, What are they?

Do your adolescent attitudes trap you or inspire you?

What attitudes from this stage of your life have you carried into adulthood?

Does your outer reality match your inner reality.

Do you speak your inner truth?

What were you born to do?

What are my gifts?

Are you using these gifts in your life?

During the next two weeks Write a letter to your parents as an adolescent. Say everything that you did not have the courage to say at that time. Describe how you took control of your own life. Did you have to fight for your independence? How supportive were they of your uniqueness?

Take a moment now and make notes as to what this letter should say.

Then write a self-portrait of who you were during that time. Sketch your sexual history. Make a list of your lovers. Notice what this tells you about your body, heart, mind spirituality and sexual development. What lessons did you learn during this stage in your life?

Take a moment now to make notes about your self portrait.

SOCIETY/MATURITY:
At this stage you are called upon to live permanent and responsible relationships to others, life partners, children, parents, extended families and friends. As puberty is discovering what you have to give, maturity is the time to give it. Our sacred task is to serve society and at the same time be true to ourselves and meet our own needs as well. The challenge is to give to others what you uniquely have, while retaining your individuality. This is the time when you become more aware of your soul. We find that we have a difficult time living up to these commitments if we haven't had the proper preparation during our previous cycles. Finding the right work, the right relationships, our personal path requires courage, commitment and a healed past.

EXERCISE:
Write a detailed account of the primary relationship in your life.

What was good and bad about it?

Describe the sexual dimension.

How has this relationship changed.

Describe your idea of an ideal intimate relationship.

What essential elements make it ideal for you?

What type of work would be your ideal.

If money or responsibilities were not an issue what would be the most challenging and fulfilling work you could be doing?

What is the first thing you could do to make it happen?

Describe the reality of your life. Does it meet your expectations of how you wanted your life to be? What is missing? What is greater than your expectations?

How does your life and work fit into society?

How does it fit with who you really are? Are you making a difference? How could you?

OUR UNIVERSE/SENIORITY:
Our universe becomes our sacred teacher during this stage of our life. It can be the richest, fullest phase of our life. We must confront our mortality, learn to value solitude, find peace and tranquility. We learn here and now enlightenment and we have more wisdom about living. Death is the ultimate letting go from the material plane of reality and we begin to prepare for our release. Ideally we increasingly enter into a still center of the spirit. If we arrive here without having achieved intimacy and maturity in the previous cycles of life, our last years may be spent in pain, loneliness and confusion. To appropriate our power of entering the Spirit, we must be willing to let go of everything including our images, ideas and beliefs about who we are. We must be willing to die. The death of our ego prepares us for the death of the body.

Exercise:
Think about how you will relate to loved ones, your parents, your mate, yourself as you get older and approach death.

How would you like to spend the last cycle of your life?

Imagine yourself doing what your heart desires, what would you be doing?

During the next two weeks, Write your ethical will and your legacy of wisdom for your survivors. Who were you, what did you believe, who influenced your life the most. What do you most want to be remembered for?
Take a moment now to make notes about writing your ethical will.

Once you have done each exercise you will understand yourself better and how you relate to others. It will also help you to identify from where most of your belief system has come. Examine your values one by one. Hold them to the light for scrutiny. Ask the Holy Spirit for validation and release for all that has become valueless when seen in the light.

The Holy Spirit, who is the voice for God, is a source in the universe that is 100% Trustworthy. We are part of an intelligent system. By tapping into this system of knowledge we discover who we truly are. We are not who our ego’s belief system has taught us to believe we are. We discover our undamaged Spirit. As we start to live in “above the waist” energy. We invite God to enter our lives to co-create it for His purposes. He knows our purpose and will lead the way.

STEPS TO DEVELOPING OUR INNER MOST SELF
1.Claim your own Divinity. “I am here to seek and be like God” Any problem we are experiencing is caused by our disconnect from God. The root of every problem we experience stems from the belief that we do not consider ourselves worthy enough to be spoken to by God. God speaks to all of us who will listen.
“A sense of separation from God is the only lack you need to correct.” ACIM
2. Remove any barriers that block the bliss of inspiration.
The ego convinces us that we are weak. The spirit knows that we can tap into the power of God if we make adjustments to become into vibrational harmony with it.
When we listen to the voice of God, our purpose will chase us.
When we discover who we truly are, we also discover that we have a divine purpose which we chose before we were born. When we are listening to guidance every experience we have will lead us to this purpose.

Desire is the beginning of all creation. It is first thought, a grand feeling within our soul. This feeling excites and inspires us. Our first desire should be to know and experience God, Secondly we should desire to know and experience ourselves in any way that inspires us. God desires our whole life process to be an experience of constant joy, continuous creating, never ending expansion and total fulfillment.
Everything we see began with a thought or idea. Nothing exists in the world that wasn’t first pure thought; an idea, a concept or visualization.
The next step to finding our purpose is through the word. The word is your thought, idea, concept or visualization expressed. The word sends forth energy into the universe where it can now assist us. “Ask and it shall be given.”
Action then is necessary. Action is the third level of creation. Actions are our words moving. We connect to the vibrational energy which is a match to what we desire to create.

When Desire, Thought, Mind, Word and Action are put together we cannot fail to produce a result. This action causes us to reassemble all the parts of ourselves, thus reminding us who we are.

Whatever is showing up in your life is assisting your life purpose. Your source cannot be removed by what it creates. When you drop your ego identity, you return to a life where inspiration awaits you.

Work diligently to become independent of the good opinion of other people. Be willing to accept the disapproval of others.

You will feel resistance to your calling from others but when you hold true to where your Spirit is leading you this resistance will turn into respect.

Stay detached from the outcome of what Is happening. Live fully in the present moment and know that God knows what he is doing.
Remember, that your desires will not arrive on your schedule but they will arrive precisely on God’s time table as soon as we can become aligned with the Spirit of abundant energy and we are a vibrational match to God.

The biggest barrier to keep us from tapping into this powerful Source is the ego. (Edging God Out)
Ego Thinking vrs. Spirit Knowing
1. The Ego sees itself as a body. The Spirit knows that it is a never changing source of being.
2. The ego says that thoughts are important. The Sprit knows that only thoughts WITH God are real.
3. The Ego thinks that the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. The Spirit knows that the Lord gives all that we ask to be to add to his glory for his purpose.
4. The ego believes in good and bad, right and wrong. The Spirit knows that there is nothing to judge because the thoughts of the ego are not real. The Spirit knows that each experience is only a lesson which will get us to our next step of spiritual evolution.
5. Ego directs love and hate towards individuals. The Spirit knows that there are no boundaries. No separation of Spirits, We are all connected.
6. The Ego devices reasons why we should listen to it creating “strivers but no arrivers” Spirit knows that we will always return to it. It is our home and the longing always remains within our heart.
“When things don’t seem to go my way, I let go of my idea of how things should be and trust that I do not know the whole picture” Deepak Chopra
Steps to becoming Peaceful and Purposeful
Never need to control.
Need to Love and be loved.
Discover your spiritual identity.
Acquire wisdom.
never need approval
Relinquish your need to judge
Learn to shut down your inner dialogue through meditation.
Never fear change.
If you cannot do great things do small things and make them great.

“Fear would disappear completely if we knew who walks beside us.” ACIM

“Today I shall judge nothing that occurs for non-judgment creates silence in my life” where I can hear the voice of the Holy Spirit which speaks for God.”
SHUTTING OUT THE INNER DIALOGUE
THE MORE I LISTEN. THE MORE PROFOUND THE SILENCE BECOMES.
Our inner worlds are a frenetic beehive of activity with the same thoughts endlessly repeating themselves. This inner frenzy I call the inner dialogue. The Chinese sage Seng T'san gave us the following piece of wisdom:
"Stop talking, stop thinking, and there is nothing you will not understand. Return to the root and you will find meaning."
When you shut down the inner dialogue you are in direct contact with the loving presence of God. "Let this mind be within you . . . God resides within you." The ability to go within, meet God and bring back something of value in the form of higher awareness is available when you seek the silence. Peace is what you will bring back.
Levels of Consciousness
Level One: The Surface
The surface on your mind is where you note all of the disturbances. This is what I call the "chatter" level. Here is where a multitude of thoughts are constantly breezing across the surface of your mind. The chatter is of finances, deadlines, health, children, appointments, shopping lists, retirement, vacation choices, conflicts at work, etc..
The storms of your life become the violence of your mind.
Level Two: Just below the Surface
A storm is still observable from below the surface, but its presence is not felt in the same way as it is when you are in the middle of it. Here, the constant entering and exiting of thoughts is replaced with a different kind of thinking. You have more control of the thinking process though you are still a long way from silence. You are more focused. Your thoughts are now on analyzing. The difficulty here is in thinking that there is something other than this moment and analyzing how to get to a place of peace and bliss.
Level Three: Well Below the Surface
Here the chatter is lessening and so is the need to analyze everything. You are allowing your mind to see the flow of how things are all connected and held together. To synthesize; means to bring together; to analyze means to take apart. At this level you are experiencing more of your spiritual nature. You can feel the flow of gratitude, joy and acceptance. Here you will sense the divine flowing through everything and everyone rather than trying to figure it out. You are becoming more peaceful.
Level Four: Stillness in Bliss
In this space, you begin to block thoughts and sink into awareness. You notice the silence of awareness, as fewer thoughts swim through. As your mind becomes quieter, joy begins to sparkle in the depths of the fourth level. Joy is a sign of the presence of God. Joy is a particularly noteworthy feature of the sacred quest because its presence confirms that you have found your path. The quietness is an inner confirmation that you are experiencing a higher part of yourself. An old proverb states: "When the shoe fits, the foot is forgotten." This is the state of mind that level four takes you to - a blissful forgetting of that which doesn't fit, because the mind is at peace.
Level Five: The Field of All Possibilities
This is the final resting-place deep within the mind. This is beyond quieting the mind. Here is the place within, where you empty your mind of all thoughts and experience the stillpoint. This is the field of infinite love and the place where all things are possible. You are unified with God and the energy of love that is at the center of all. As you experience the unified field in your daily "shutting down of the inner dialogue" practice, you will bring back a knowing about the purpose of your daily life. The field of all possibilities is what St. Matthew was referring to when he said, "...with God, all things are possible."

The storms will continue in your life, as they do on the pond. Serenity will no longer be defined as freedom from storms but will be known as peace during the wild weather. You will learn to fly above the turbulance.
THE FIVE FREEDOMS Dr. Virginia Sater
1. The freedom to see and hear what is here and now, rather than what was, what will be or should be.
2. The freedom to think what one thinks, rather than what one should think.
3. The freedom to feel what one feels, rather than what one should feel.
4. The freedom to want and to choose what one wants, rather than what one should what.
5.The freedom to imagine ones own self-actualization, rather then playing a rigid role or always playing it safe.
SPIRITUAL LAWS: THE LEVERAGE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE
DAN MILLMAN
1. The Law of Faith: Only when we find faith in ourselves can we have faith in others.
2. The Law of Expectations: Our life unfolds according to our hidden expectations and assumptions.
3. The Law of Intuition: As we stop monitoring other's opinions, we connect with our heart's wisdom.
4. The Law of Choices: We can choose to express our creative energy in positive or negative ways.
5. The Law of Action: To overcome self-doubt, we need to acknowledge our vulnerably but act with confidence.
6. The Law of Flexibility: Staying flexible, we make the best use of difficulties and changing circumstance.
7. The Law of Balance: Seeing our tendency to swing from one extreme to another, we find our balance point.
8.The Law of Process: To get where we want to go, the only sure way is one small step at a time.

The Power of Attitude
The nest of young eagles hung on every word as the Master Eagle described his exploits. This was an important day for the eaglets. They were preparing for their first solo flight from the nest. It was the confidence builder many of them needed to fulfill their destiny.
"How far can I travel?" asked one of the eaglets.
"How far can you see?" responded the Master Eagle.
"How high can I fly?" quizzed the young eaglet.
"How far can you stretch your wings?" asked the old eagle.
"How long can I fly?" the eaglet persisted.
"How far is the horizon?" the mentor rebounded.
"How much should I dream?" asked the eaglet.
"How much can you dream?" smiled the older, wiser eagle.
"How much can I achieve?" the young eagle continued.
"How much can you believe?" the old eagle challenged.
Frustrated by the banter, the young eagle demanded, "Why don't you answer my questions?" "I did."
"Yes. But you answered them with questions."
"I answered them the best I could."
"But you're the Master Eagle. You're supposed to know everything. If you can't answer these questions, who can?"
"You." The old wise eagle reassured.
"Me? How?" the young eagle was confused.
"No one can tell you how high to fly or how much to dream. It's different for each eagle. Only God and you know how far you'll go. No one on this earth knows your potential or what's in your heart. You alone will answer that. The only thing that limits you is the edge of your imagination."
The young eagle puzzled by this asked, "What should I do?"
"Look to the horizon, spread your wings, and fly."

Lesson One Review

In Lesson One, we learned that the point of studying A Course in Miracles is to take us through a process where we recognize our ego (who we are without God) and embracing the Spirit. (who we are when we invite God into our lives) The Spirit is who we really are. The ego is everything we have made up since our separation from God.

We learned that when we live as the ego, we feed all the appetites of the human side of ourselves. We are motivated by Security, Sensation and Power. Our daily lives are filled with millions of mindless thoughts each day, and busy-ness which gives us a false sense of achievment. Most of our time is spent with amusing ourselves. Underneath this false self, we experience Fear, Insecurity, Lack and Feelings that we are a fraud. We strive without ever arriving. We know that there is something more and we search endlessly outside of ourselves to find it. We call living in this ego energy, "below the waist" energy.

We learned that we have a belief system in place that may or may not be serving our higher good. By answering the questionaires, we discovered what some of our belief's are and identified if they were inherited beliefs from our "tribe" or if we came to the belief by our own experience.

We identified how the ego is different from the Spirit. The Spirit's thought system is based only on LOVE. The Spirit's energy vibrates at a must faster pace. A pace more in alignment with the vibration of God. At the ego level the veil is very thick, the energy very slow and dense and learning is very slow. The longing to heal our separation from God is inside each of us. No matter which path we choose. Learning will take place and we will find our way back to God.

We have no choice about learning. That is why we were born; to learn and become more like God. The choice we do have is whether we are going to learn through Joy or through Pain. When we choose the path of the ego, though it won't always be painful, we will experience pain. The Spirit cannot be injured, it cannot experience pain, because it knows that everything the ego made up is not real. It looks at what is happening in your life objectively as an experience which is happening for learning purposes. With God Co-creating your life, the solutions come easily and the lesson learned the first time.

The Spirit knows that guilt is not a productive emotion. It knows that sin has been misinterpreted by the ego. "Sin" defined by the way the term was coined in ancient times, is an archery term. It means "you missed the bullseye" When we interpret it as it was written, "sin' does not mean we did something wrong or bad. It means we just missed the mark this time. Draw back your arrow and aim again. No judgment is necessary. Just try until you get it right, until you hit the bullseye.

We are Spirits having a human experience. We think the opposite, that we are human and every once in a while we have a Spiritual experience. All of us who have experienced a Spiritual moment know this feeling of bliss. It is possible to stay longer and longer in this state of bliss.

There are block which keep us from experiencing Spiritual energy. They are the following:
Resistance: We want to just amuse ourselves with gadgets, television, movies or other things outside of ourselves that block our emptiness. Our interest span is very short and we move from one thing or thought to the next. Our busy-ness gives us a false sense of achievement.

Casualness: We think that if things are going well now, we can handle our life on our own. We only need to go to God when we experience a crisis. It is Heaven "etiquette" that God must be invited in before he enters our lives. The good times of our life can be enhanced and even greater with the presence of God in our life. It is possible that crisis occurs for us because God wants us to connect. Perhaps we could eliminate the crisises completely if we invited God in to stay.

Un-Willingness: We must offer an inner space for God and his voice, the Holy Spirit, to unfold. We must stop our activities, silence the inner dialogue, and listen for God's direction. For most of us to be alone in a quiet room is excruciating. We are undisciplined. We must truly desire to do what is necessary to hear the Holy Spirit. Most of our lives are too full of activity to stop long enough to have a two way conversation with God. We use God as sounding board, and then go on about our daily lives. What if we actually listened to what he had to say to us in return?
Commit to yourself
1. I will take time to find stillness in my life.
2. I will recognize my resistance and break it down little by little
3. I will remember that even the good times will be enhanced when God is invited to the party.
4. I will not wait for crisis to enter my life to call upon God.
Storms will continue in your life, Serenity will no longer be defined as freedom from storms, but will be known as peach during the wild weather. We can fly above the storm.

Seven Steps to Spiritual Evolution

THE SEVEN CENTERS OF CONSCIOUSNESS

Each center of consciousness
correlates to a Chakra Energy
Center in the Body.

1. THE SECURITY CENTER (Base Chakra)
You are preoccupied with food, shelter, money or whatever you equate with your personal security. Your thoughts are dominated with getting “enough”. You are in survival mode.

2.THE SENSATION CENTER (Sexual Chakra)
You think by providing yourself with more and better sensations this will bring you happiness. You obsess about getting your next “fix” whether it is drugs, sex, new romance, food or all of the above.

3. THE POWER CENTER (Solar Plexus)
You are focused on dominating people and situations and increasing your prestige, wealth and pride. (Manipulation and control are more subtle forms of this center.)

4. THE LOVE CENTER (Heart Chakra)
You have perhaps experienced the lower centers of consciousness and have discovered that security, sensation and power bring only fleeting happiness. You still feel empty and you begin to turn internally for your answers. The Holy Spirit, who has always been there to give you the answers, can now be heard. With his guidance, you begin to accept everyone you meet unconditionally. You connect spirit to spirit rather than ego to ego. You feel compassion for those still caught in the lower centers. You begin to look at the world with harmony and acceptance. All of your experiences seem to make sense.

5. THE ABUNDANCE CENTER (Throat Chakra)
You experience the friendliness of the world you are creating. You realize that you live in a perfect world. It is perfect either for your GROWTH or as your continuous enjoyment of life. When you become more loving and accepting, the world becomes a “horn of plenty” providing more than you need to be happy. Your life becomes “ON PURPOSE”. You have learned that you have much input in creating your reality.

6.THE CONSCIOUS/AWARENESS CENTER (Mind Chakra)
This is a meta-center from which you non-judgmentally witness the drama of your body, mind and spirit. You observe your social roles and life games from a place that is free from fear and vulnerability. You can view your life as if you are an observer, without emotion. You act instead of reacting. You fly above the turbulence.

7.THE TOTAL CONSCIOUSNESS CENTER (Crown Chakra)
From the sixth center, you transcend self-awareness to become pure awareness. You see how you fit into the whole picture. You are ONE with everything. You ARE love, peace, energy beauty, wisdom, clarity, effectiveness and oneness.
EVERY SITUATION CAN BE PERCEIVED FROM EACH OF THE SEVEN CENTERS OF CONSCIOUSNESS. YOUR EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE OF ANY SITUATION DEPENDS ON THE CENTER OF CONSCIOUSNESS YOU USE TO INTERPRET THE SITUATION IN YOUR LIFE.

CHAKRA CENTERS
The seven CHAKRAS are the energetic complement of our physical world. As we evolve as human beings, we move from one spiritual energy level to another. We are born into the densest energy level, where our memory of the spiritual level is obscured. The veil is very thick. The veil becomes thinner and thinner as our spiritual growth develops.

As we live our lives, our biography becomes our biology. We aren’t meant to harbor grief, anger resentment of our feelings of betrayal. We must go through the stages of healing and then let these feelings go. If we hold onto these negative feelings, we drain the energy from the correlating energy centers of the body causing illness. Our physical well being is directly related to our spiritual well being.

BASE CHAKRA (The Tribal Layer)

The base chakra is located at the base of the spine, and correlates with the color red. We are born into this energy level. We are all born into certain “tribes”. Our family name, religion, community etc. identify our tribe. The laws of the physical, such as, time, density, Illness, Aging and the belief system of the ego govern us. The tribe keeps us safe, and teaches us their belief system. Everything that is taught is for the good of the tribe. They do not encourage individual growth because that could be detrimental to the tribe. Because the lessons of the tribe are the only lessons we have been taught, we believe that everything we learn is TRUTH even though much of it is only sociology and mythology. Ideas such as “You should be married by the time you are 25 years old.” or “You will only be happy and prosperous if you go to church.” are examples of such mythology. This programming is always linear and logical. As our spirituality emerges, we begin to make the non-physical world our authority over the physical.
Our density of thought determines the speed of our spiritual growth and the density of thought is thickest at the tribal level, although the tribe teaches us the purest truth it knows. We must look to the leaders for all of our knowledge and are never taught how to go to the source of learning on our own. Personal revelation is not respected.
To inspire us to move beyond the tribal level, we are all born into a tribe where we feel as if we do not fit. This is “on purpose” so that we aren’t comfortable here and on a sub-conscious level we are always seeking more. We feel restless and often time rebellious. We begin to evaluate every belief we have had and instead of looking to the tribe for answers we begin to trust ourselves.
We can, and many of us do, stay at the tribal level during our lifetime. There is safety and stability within the group but at some point many of us truth seekers feel that something is missing here and we must go the journey alone. Sometimes we are motivated by disillusionment about the tribe belief system. Their truth does not ring true for us or something we believed in betrays us. If we hold resentment, anger or bitterness towards the tribe, however, energy will be depleted from our lower back or our bowels.

THE SECOND CHAKRA (The Sexual Chakra)
The second chakra is located in the sexual organs and correlates with the color orange.
At this level, we begin to feel a great desire to grow separately from the tribe. We discover the many ways that we are different from the tribe and we discard the beliefs that do not seem true for us. We discover our talents and our uniqueness. We experiment with relationships outside the tribe and imitate others who seem to be having a better time than we are. We are still searching outside of ourselves for truth and wholeness. In this chakra, we hold all of our feelings about relationships, money, competition and creativity. We keep our sexual memories here and our need to have power and control. The more money we have the more sexual energy we have. The more money we have the less need we have to attend to our tribal laws. If we are in competition with, or hold resentment, anger, pain and mistrust against someone or something, we send our precious energy out to these people thus depleting our energy in the sexual chakra. If we have creative ideas or thoughts, we cannot complete them because we choose to use our creative energy to finance negative feelings. Depleted energy within the second chakra can cause sciatic pain, endometriosis, ovarian or prostrate cancer etc.
Although this is still a dense energy chakra, we have peeled away a layer of the veil and have moved to the next level of our spiritual evolution.

THE THIRD CHAKRA (Solar Plexus)
This Chakra is located at the navel and correlates with the color yellow.
At this level, we leave our tribe, usually with great difficulty. When we reach this level we claim our personal power. Where we always made choices for the good of the tribe, we now ask the question, “What about me?” We embark on a quest for self-discovery. Because the pursuit of ones self is not for the good of the tribe, we are usually criticized and scorned. The tribe should be appreciated for all it has taught us. It is an excellent springboard for our personal journey.
We begin to take better care of ourselves and allow privileges that we have up to
this point denied ourselves. Sometimes we divorce, have plastic surgery, exercise, loose weight or do any number of things that are self-serving. We have a tendency to just let the heart rule.
We can get stuck at this level and many of us do, unless the pursuit of the self is
equal to our pursuit of God. It is at this level that we begin to hear the whisperings of the Holy Spirit. It becomes our internal teacher and we discover that what we have been searching for outside ourselves has always been within.

THE FOURTH CHAKRA (Heart Chakra)
This chakra is located at the heart and correlates with the color green. This
Chakra holds the CHRIST ENERGY and by listening to the Holy Spirit, we can connect with Christ. It is at this level that we learn to love as Christ loves.
The crucifixion was Christ’s way of teaching us what we would all experience in this lifetime. He was the example of what we were here to learn UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND FORGIVENESS. We cannot learn these lessons unless we have been betrayed in some way. Therefore, we will every one of us, experience some kind of a betrayal. A person, a belief, a religion; someone or something will betray us in this lifetime. The purpose of this betrayal other than the obvious lessons is to see if we can overcome the illusion of the dense energy reality and surrender to the spirit energy where miracles can occur. If we are heavily invested in the illusions of the body, the laws of that reality govern us. As an example, if we are invested in “below the waist” energy, we are subject to illness and because we are subject to illness we will have to rely on chemical or “manmade” medicines to cure the illness. The Spirit cannot get ill. When we invest our energy in Christ Consciousness and know that we are NOT our body, then alternative methods of healing can and do occur such as, prayer, energy work, visualization, meditation etc. The same is true of betrayal. The betrayal occurs at the ego energy level and thus is an illusion of the ego. Just as the Spirit cannot get ill neither can the Spirit be betrayed. Our Higher Self has just created this scenario in our life to give us our greatest opportunity for learning unconditional love and forgiveness. LEARNING TO LOVE WELL IS ALL THERE IS! If this is true our betrayer is not our enemy at all. HE IS OUR GREATEST TEACHER!

THE FIFTH CHAKRA (Throat Chakra)
This Chakra is located at the throat and correlates with the color blue. At this level, we have experienced unconditional love and forgiveness. With our burden lifted and a light heart, we feel that we must share our story. We must speak our truth. We must become a teacher of God. We give up the earthly laws that ground and restrict us to surrender to the limitless Power of God where miracles can and do occur. We give up our human desire for Divine Trust. The energy in the throat at chakra is also the energy of confession. Here, we don’t use the term “confession” in the traditional sense of the word. Here confession means that we purge all the negativity energy that remains within our bodies by releasing it through the word. It doesn’t matter to whom we confess to as long as we release it and call our positive energy back into our bodies to flow freely and lovingly. To what to we need to confess??? Anything that is not love or loving we all know exactly what situation, feelings or emotions are making us feel ill, stressed out or spiritually dead.

THE SIXTH CHAKRA (Mind Chakra)
This chakra is located in the mind and correlates with the color purple. At this level we are willing to give up the intellect of the ego mind in exchange for the WISDOM OF GOD. We allow ourselves to be taught and led by His Holy Power. WE ARE GIVEN AS MUCH POWER HERE AS WE ARE WILLING TO USE IN HIS NAME, FOR HIS PURPOSE. We have given up all of our perceptions, illusions and distortions of truth and receive clear, perfect knowledge. We see through the eyes of God.

THE SEVENTH CHAKRA (Crown Chakra)

This chakra is located at the crown of the head and correlates with the color crystal. At this level we have become completely GOD-LIKE. We have learned line upon line, precept upon precept all of the thoughts of God. As we tap into the mind of God, we become one with Him. Our thoughts become God’s thoughts; our actions are God’s actions. The “God in embryo” has reached its full development.

Lesson One - Part Two

Although Jesus is the author of A Course in Miracles, the ideas are universal and psychologically sound. It is a mind training that teaches us to relinquish a thought system based on fear and accept instead a thought system based on pure love.

We will learn to allow the Holy Spirit to direct our thoughts, feelings, perceptions and actions. Our Mental and Emotional health require that we love the way God loves and see the world the way God sees the world.

We are born with perfect love. We recognize this in a newborn infant. Then our parents, religion, society, and our peers [Who we will call our "Tribe"] teach us how to survive in the world. We are taught that we must compete in the world, that we are separate and different from each other. We are taught to become human doings rather than human beings. Most of our time is spent striving without ever arriving. Within each one of us there is a feeling of emptiness.

We turn to food, religion, drugs, alcohol, exercise or any other vice we feel will fill the void. It may work for a little while but that hole just keeps resurfacing.

Our ego, who we are when we EASE GOD OUT, has created the perfect defense for this hole inside. It, and society agrees, that if we just find the perfect person to love, we will be whole and perfectly happy. We search for a partner who has traits that are lacking in ourselves and think that half a person and half a person will make a whole. We are soon disappointed to discover that they only remind us of our inadequacies, and they aren't as perfect as they seemed in the beginning anyway. When we experience the world through our ego, we are in a constant state of internal chaos.

It is our separation from God that is causing our incompleteness. Some of us pray and believe that we have a relationship with God but we do not stop long enough to hear God communicate with us. We just use God as our sounding board. A Course in Miracles will help us to listen to what God has to say to us. He has a personal message for each of us which is spoken by the Holy Spirit.

We will all experience Spiritual Evolution though out our lifetime. Some will evolve more quickly than others but we will learn and evolve. We have no choice about that. Our only choice is if we are going to learn through joy or through pain.

The following Charts and explanations will explain the seven steps of Spiritual evolution. Most Religions and Spiritual Practices as well as Modern Psychology agree in the stages of growth. Although we have different ways of reaching the next level. The first will explain the psychological changes we go through and the second will explain the Chakra System. The Hindu energy levels of Spiritual Evolution. The last page is a chart showing Christianity, Judism, Hinduism, Shamanism and Modern Psychology and how similar they all are. Once we recognize which level of evolution we are spending most of our time, it will help us to move to the next level of evolution.

OUR BELIEFS CREATE OUR EXPERIENCES

Do our beliefs create our experience? Most of us believe that the opposite is true. We believe that our experiences create our beliefs. But let's explore that possibility that it is the other way around. Suppose that all the beliefs you have embraced all your life blinded you to a new reality, a more joyful reality. If your beliefs DO create your experiences, then you would have to RE-THINK your whole life. Assume just for a moment that the key words here are "I believe". What we believe IS. If you believe that your experiences create your beliefs, they do. BUT if you believe that your beliefs create your experiences, they do. This new awareness is both powerful and frightening because it makes us personally responsible for what we create and what we have already created. If you are responsible, you have the power to do something about your experience and thus your life.

WE ALREADY HAVE EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT AT THIS VERY MOMENT.
We have what we believe is possible and what we believe we DESERVE. What we believe and what we THINK are two completely different things. We have thoughts all day long that would dispute that we already have what we want. Our beliefs are in our sub-conscious mind. These beliefs could have been formed as a toddler or young child based on something someone said or didn't say. We have forgotten these experiences so we have forgotten the belief but the sub-conscious REMEMBERS. It is its function to remember and manifest the experiences that honor our beliefs. When we learn to go back and re-program our beliefs into the sub-conscious, the sub-conscious will provide us with all of our needs.

Our attitudes, feelings, choices and decisions also are creators of our reality, but they do not have the impact that our sub-conscious beliefs have. This is the reason some of our thoughts, such as "This is the beginning of a happy relationship" might not become a reality if our beliefs are "LOVE HURTS" or "I DON'T DESERVE TO BE HAPPY". Our thoughts, choices, feelings and decisions are always overridden by our beliefs.

DISCOVER THE BELIEFS THAT SABOTAGE YOUR LIFE!!

Relationships have a funny way of reflecting us not only to others but back to ourselves as well. Healthy relationships also have a funny way of demanding that we recognize who it is we see in the reflection, that is, who WE REALLY ARE. If we do not want to become better acquainted with ourselves, then it follows that we truly do not want a romantic relationship.

* ARE YOU WILLING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR BELIEFS CONCERNING ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP?

* ARE YOU WILLING TO CHANGE THE BELIEFS THAT NO LONGER SERVE YOU?

* ARE YOU WILING TO EMBRACE NEW BELIEFS AND CREATE A DIFFERENT REALITY?

Growth and change are different processes and should not be confused. Only change can create long-lasting differences in us. We can continue to grow by developing insight and accumulating knowledge. New insight and knowledge does not guarantee a difference in our behavior or in how we feel. Growth prepares us for change.

THE STAGES WE EXPERIENCE WHILE STUDYING A COURSE IN MIRACLES

4. A PERIOD OF SETTLING DOWN OR REST. (We give up what we do not want and keep what we do.) AT THIS POINT, WE CONTINUE WITH MIGHTY COMPANIONS BESIDE US.
5. A PERIOD OF UNSETTLING. (You don't know what is valuable or valueless, so you learn to ASK in every circumstance.)
6. A PERIOD OF ACHIEVEMENT. (Learning is consolidated, we have consistency of thought and full transfer. We have achieved a state of real peace.)
